People want an easy way out. They don’t want to struggle, be patient, work hard in order to achieve their goals. Do you know what is the typical outcome for people who have such approach to life? They fail. And fail they miserably because they will surely repeat the same mistake over and over, never learning from their experience. The key to achieve success is to..
Endure the pain
If you want to become healthy, you will ABSOLUTELY have to struggle. It’s very hard to change your eating habits, especially if you’ve been eating unhealthy food for past 20 years or so. Ask someone who’s been drinking Coke daily for at least a few years. If they have ever tried giving up Coke, they probably suffered from headaches and other withdrawal symptoms. Simply switching Coke to water or tea, no matter how healthy and delicious, won’t make it any less painful.
Whenever you see a healthy person, remind yourself that you too can become such a person, but you will have to give up some of your favorite foods, drinks, etc. They may be your favorite foods or drinks now, but keep in mind that in 5-10 years they can give you diabetes, heart disease, stroke and many other diseases. Life with such diseases is no fun.
The same applies to being fit. Do you think that people who are lean and muscular achieved it with absolutely no problem? When you see beautiful toned people you may think that they achieved this goal easily (some people even accuse them of taking steroids). The truth is that they had to work extremely hard for at least the last few years. Weightlifting requires a lot of dedication and determination. And it’s not only about weightlifting, but also about the diet. All these healthy great looking people stick to their diets, even though it was probably extremely hard for them at first to resist eating sweets, junk food, drink healthy beverages instead of sugary drinks etc.
I like a lot CT Fletcher’s approach to life. Watch the video below for ultimate motivation:
